Silver Linings
I am sucked into this glooming depression
Feeling the weight of suffering in the worldBlack clouds grasping at peace and mind.
I struggle, suffocating on their chaotic clamour
Into this dread... falling deep as if I am lead.
I want to bury myself in a pizza and flee
It is so obvious I have often taken that path.
My body carries the weight of those sorrows
That I have feasted so diligently to escape.
All in vain... for still I must heal this pain.
Breathe. Deep breath. Relax now and just feel.
Feel this anguish, this fear, the anger and lack.
We are starving to death on this battered planet
Whether we wallow in material goods or not
We are all poor... famished for something more.
It all pours through, desperate to be heard.
I embrace with a loving sigh the sad sounds
Of cherished dreams turned into nightmares
Beyond any hope of resurrection at dawn.
Tears play... and softly I let it all fall away.
I close my eyes and open them in the silence
Where my truth abides and I am one infinity.
I open my eyes, now companioned by stillness.
Love light pours from this sacred halcyon haven.
Floating to the top... onto the surface I now pop!
